Thelma's Attic features pieces hand done by Thelma, Kathy's mother. Thelma has been sewing professionally for almost 75 years. Her needles are still “hot” as ever, as she creates dolls as well as articles of clothing. Her artistry and love of sewing are shown in her handcrafted dolls. They are made from “scratch”, starting with the doll bodies and finishing right down to the shoes.
Her needle of choice is the ever vigilant sewing needle, she is a connoisseur of both hand and machine sewing. Knitting and crocheting rank high on her must do list. She has also mastered
the art of creating her own patterns when she cannot find one to
fit her design.
Because one must always have
“handwork” to take along, my mother
brings her “bag” wherever she goes.
